Master key plan
What is a master key system?
A master key system is an advanced locking system where one key—the so-called master key—can open multiple doors or areas, while other keys provide access only to specific parts of the building. This means there are different key levels depending on the role or function of the user.
The system is designed to create a balance between security and convenience, allowing users to access only the areas they need.
There are different levels within a master key system:
Master key: This key provides access to all doors within the building or complex. It is usually issued only to the facility manager or the person responsible for building maintenance.
Sub-keys: These keys are limited to certain sections or zones of the building. For example, a key might only open a specific floor, office, or storage area. Sub-key holders typically have limited access rights.
Individual keys: These provide access to specific rooms or areas based on the user's role. They are usually given to employees who need access to a particular workspace, such as an office or meeting room.
Where can a master key system be used?
A master key system can be applied in various locations, as previously mentioned. We can design a fully customized plan that perfectly matches the specific needs of the environment. For example, we can install door cylinders at the entrance hall to allow general access, while a badge-operated cylinder can restrict access to certain areas for authorized personnel only.
In addition, a master key system can also be implemented on padlocks used on construction sites, ensuring an efficient and secure access control setup. A practical example can be seen in the image next to this text.
